What’s New at SoCal Theme Parks for Summer 2019?

Adventure City

Adventure City is a great, family-friendly amusement park. There are rides, an arcade, a small dance / free space and a small petting zoo. This is an excellent place to take young ones, without the high costs, overcrowding and general parental stress of a typical theme park.

Rewind Racers
Open Now:  Loaded with speed, this coaster starts off going backwards. Fly through the starting gates and twist and turn through the course. Once you reach the end of the track, spin back through the winding course in reverse – loads of fun!

 


 

Disneyland, California Adventure & Disney Expo 2019

Food and Wine Festival at California Adventure
Now thru April 23: Discover the beauty of California with unforgettable cuisine, bubbling beverages and performance events. The Sip and Savor Passport is the best way to taste your way through the festival which is available for adults over 21, located throughout the park to purchase. This passport includes a souvenir lanyard and taste credentials that lets you choose up to eight select foods or non-alcoholic beverage items from any participating Marketplaces, Paradise Garden Grill and select Festival Food & Beverage Carts.

 

Mickey’s Soundsational Parade at California Adventure
Now thru May: Drum up some fun at Mickey’s syncopated symphony of Disney Characters. Wave and dance with your favorite princesses’ including Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle and Rapunzel.

 

Mickey’s Mix Magic at Disneyland
Now thru May: An all-new nightly party bursting with Disney song tracks, colorful projections and exciting lights and lasers guaranteed to electrify the family.

 

Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration at Downtown Disney District
Now thru June: A unique, pop-up photo experience celebrating Disney, exclusive to 2019. Fans of all ages are invited to a limited-time experience paying tribute to the mouse of the hour.

 

Jessie’s Critter Carousel at Pixar Pier in California Adventure
Opening in April: The giant toy carousel will feature Jessie, the yodeling cowgirl, and a friendly bunch of desert critters. Inspired by the “Toy Story” films, you can take your pick of critters, from a whimsical snake, to an armadillo, turtle, bunny and more from the world of Woody’s Roundup.

 

Stars Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Opening this Summer: Finally! Disney has announced its major expansion about Star Wars Land. Expect the new ride Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run this summer with a special reservation required to enter the land. Keep an eye out, as Disney has not announced an official date when guests can reserve. There will be no FastPass or MaxPass option for this ride.

More news will announced about the ride  Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, which will also be premiering sometime in 2019.

 

D23 EXPO 201 in Anaheim Convention Center
August 23-25: The largest Disney fan event in the world, D23 Expo celebrates all the wonderful worlds of The Walt Disney Company under one roof. This includes the best of Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars across film, television, theme parks, products, online, music, live entertainment, and more. Ticket prices, $59-249. Purchase tickets here.

 


 

Universal Studios Hollywood

Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle
April 13 – 23: Prepare to face Dementors, Death Eaters and the Dark Lord, Voldemort, in an all-new spectacle of light and music. This new projection show will challenge visitors to summon their inner strength and bravery in the face of the all-consuming Dark Arts accompanied by an atmospheric musical score.

 

Jurassic World the Ride
Opening this Summer: Brace yourself for the opening of the new epic adventure: Jurassic World™ – The Ride, based on the blockbuster film franchise.

 


Knott’s Berry Farm

Boysenberry Festival
Now thru April 28: Taste incredible flavors of boysenberry, uniquely crafted by the Knott’s Culinary Team. Tasting cards are the best way to enjoy savory, sweet dishes. Sample delicious, one-of-a-kind boysenberry items at select locations throughout Ghost Town.

 

Ghost Town Alive!
Select days, May 24 – September 2: This event offers guests an interactive experience to play an important part in the unfolding story of the Wild West. Have your family take on specific tasks and activities as an honorary citizen of Calico City. Experience an authentic western adventure complete with bandits, sheriffs and hoedown.

 

HangTime
Open Now: HangTime, the first and only dive coaster in California, is now open. HangTime towers 150 feet over the Boardwalk area, showcasing a beyond vertical drop that is the steepest in California, gravity-defying inversions, and mid-air suspensions.

 

Calico River Rapids
Opening this Summer: Knott’s white water raft ride, currently known as BigFoot Rapids, is undergoing a major renovation with the addition of new features to the attraction including new animatronics, themed show scenes, a new story overlay and plenty of dynamic water effects.

 


 

Legoland California

Birthday Kids Go In Free!
All year long: Kids 12 and under can visit Legoland California Resort for FREE on their birthday. Proof of birth date required.

 

Lego City Officer in Pursuit in 4D
Opening in April: This exclusive 4D movie at Legoland will have the whole family laughing out loud. Join their Lego Police Officers in a crazy 4D caper across town as they chase down the mischievous crook through the streets and skyscrapers of the metropolis.

 

Duplo Playtown
Legoland is recreating the popular Duplo Playtown, adding a new express train. Kids will be able to slide, hide and ride throughout the interactive play area and board the new mini-locomotive for a fun-filled ride.

 


 

Six Flags California

The World’s First Dual Racing Launch Coaster
This summer, Six Flags is debuting a one-of-a-kind, record-breaking coaster experience. West Coast Racers will feature two side-by-side tracks that launch at the same time, three zero G rolls, a zero G stall, multiple airtime hills, 14 track crossovers, a high-five element, and speeds up to 55 miles per hour.

 


 

SeaWorld San Diego

Seven Seas Craft and Beer Festival
Now thru April 28: Sip and sample your way around the world of international street food traditions, craft beers and wines, and enjoy live musical performances along the way. Be sure to stop by the Polynesian Flavors stage during festival evenings to experience Polynesian Fire Dancing, an exciting display of time-honored traditional dancing mixed with fire instruments.

 

Viva La Música Festival
May 4-19 and June 1-2: A celebration of Hispanic culture through great music, food and festive decor, highlighted by live concerts. Enjoy sensational Latin music and cuisine in a fun festival atmosphere. Information on featured artists is coming soon.

 

Sesame Street Parade Party
May 25 – September 1: The whole family will be singing and dancing along with Elmo and his furry cast of friends as they join more than 20 dancers along the parade route. The parade also features a pair of impressive show stops. The first includes performers jumping rope, hula hooping, and grooving with their Sesame Street friends. And the second stars Rosita, a Sesame Street favorite who likes to play the guitar and is fluent in English and Spanish.

 

Tidal Twister
Opening in May: Tidal Twister is an all-new roller coaster that evokes the power of the ocean. On top of its high-speed turns and upside-down twists, Tidal Twister’s unique dueling feature (two trains load at opposite ends of the figure-eight, then cross in the center) makes this coaster the first of its kind!

    How can I obtain a copy of your kidsguidemagazine 2019 through the mail. Currently I don’t own a copy machine and if it’s possible can I please receive a copy of this wonderful magazine.
