October 13: Kids will learn how to create their own basic artificial intelligence using IBM’s Watson and ScratchX (experimental extensions). What better way is there to prepare them for the future? Kids will be guided through creating a machine learning model. They’ll train that model to understand the intent behind specific phrases that people say. Then, using their trained model, the kids’ code will make predictions about the intent of new messages users will type in. It’s a pretty rewarding experience that inspires most kids to go deeper into computer science. Saturday, 2:30-4:00 p.m. Parents; free, kids ages 9-14; $27.68. UCode.
