Here’s a dramatic spin on fun this summer ? how about taking the stage?
Budding performers will get their chance in the spotlight. Let them shine and learn from industry professionals when they enroll in International City Theatre’s Summer Youth Conservatory!
For six weeks, youths 7-15 will learn about the ins and outs of theater performance. They’ll receive instruction in acting, music and movement ? skills they’ll showcase before an audience when they put on a show at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center. The program is an extension of the organization’s outreach and education efforts, which include family programs as well as the Students To Stage initiative, designed to expose teens to theater’s evocative and artistic environment.
ICT?s Summer Conservatory runs July 6 – Aug. 13, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., at The Marketplace, 6445 E. Pacific Coast Hwy, C-7, Long Beach. Only $375 for the entire six-week program. The free performance will be on Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at International City Theatre at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center. To register or for more information, call Sheila Lee at (562) 495-4595, Ext. 10, or log on to www.internationalcitytheatre.org.
