March 16: Young women who love science or just beginning to show an interest will love this hands-on workshop at Ocean Institute. Conduct live research with female scientists in labs and aboard the Sea Explorer.

International Children’s Festival in Long Beach

March 16-17: Join the Aquarium of the Pacific’s annual International Children’s Day festival, celebrating the amazing talents of children of all cultures.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

March 1 – May 12: The nearly 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are in bloom for just six to eight weeks each year, bringing the famous fields back to life.

Pompeii: The Exhibition at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum

25th Annual Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade

March 16: Over 100 local businesses, civic organizations and school marching bands will take part in the seven-block parade down Pier Avenue. The Irish theme of Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated by the many participants in the festivities including bagpipers from the Emerald Society, floats, horses and four-legged friends from the Irish Setters Club of Southern California.
