September 16 – November 25: Have a one-of-a-kind experience in the only Spider Pavilion in the U.S. Get a glimpse of the private lives of spiders in the open-air pavilion that is designed as a safe space to get up close to these amazing arachnids.
November 17- January 5: SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration includes Rudolph’s Christmastown, Santa’s Christmas Village, a 40-foot tall tree, holiday-themed animal shows and a new live nativity show.
Fridays, September 7 – December 28: Get up close with the ocean’s ultimate predators during free Shark Lagoon Nights.
November 16-17: Join Fashion Island for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony with a live musical performance by The Young Americans, a visit from Santa, and magical snowfall!
November 3 – December 29: Visit The Old Globe for Dr. Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas! A wonderful, whimsical musical based upon the classic Dr. Seuss book.
Through late November: Working apple orchards in Oak Glen, a mountain town halfway between Riverside and Palm Springs, open their doors to the public. Some offer U-pick apples.
November 1 – January 15: Downtown Santa Monica brings a little ice to the beachside community with ICE.
Daily: Movies at discounted prices.
Fridays: Friday Knight Tournaments give students a chance to flex their mental muscles and see if their queen is the meanest queen in town!
November 2 – January 6: Skate under the stars at the festive outdoor Holiday Ice Rink in the Giant Wheel Court at Irvine Spectrum Center.
November 15 – January 21: Join a winter wonderland with a host of free community and special events (see schedule below).
Third Fridays: Kids (5-11 and 12-14) enjoy a scavenger hunt, karaoke, dance, arts and crafts, games, sports, contests and more.
Third Fridays: Kids (5-12), get ready for a fun night out with friends. This program will have you busy throughout the night with games, crafts, a movie, dinner and dessert!
Third Sundays: In these free drop-in workshops families will work together to create artwork inspired by Museum exhibitions.
September 16 – November 30: Can you locate the bird houses inhabited by parrots, owls, blue birds and hawks to collect their clues and find the missing pumpkin patch?
November 16: Kids (3-4) and their adult guardian can come and learn about birds, even those that can’t fly, with hands-on learning, fun crafts and meeting zoo animals up close.
November 16-18: Family-friendly event features demo rides, custom and vintage bike displays, stunt show, marketplace and Kids’ Zone.
Friday: LACMA staff reads folk tales and age-appropriate books on art and culture.
November 2, 13, 16 and 17: Join the Auto Club for a free class on the proper use of car seats, including how to select the right seat for your child and tips on car seat installation.
Select dates, November 1-30: Enjoy a variety of fun art activities this month with LACMA! Weekly family events feature artist-led workshops, friendly gallery tours, and activities thematically based on special exhibitions and LACMA’s permanent collection.

November 16 – January 6: With the flick of a switch, the zoo is set aglow with breathtaking displays. Take a self-guided 60- to 90-minute stroll though a large area of the Zoo filled with animal-themed displays, dynamic lights and projections, and seasonal magic.
Fridays: Binge-watch anime during Teen Anime Club every first and third Friday, and see popular and not-so-popular films during Teen Flicks every second and fourth Friday (grades 7-12).
November 2 – December 29: Celebrate the weekend at Irvine Spectrum Center with live holiday entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the season.
Daily: A monthly calendar of family-friendly hikes, walks, tours and more at parks in the Orange County Parks system.
Friday and Saturday: Parents drop off the kids and enjoy a night out on their own. Three hours of awesome games on the custom server and game maps with favorite BrainStorm instructors.
Every other Friday: They turn off the lights, crank up the music with special-effects lighting, so families can have their disco bouncing fun.
Fridays: Kids (7+) join Fashion Camp every Friday for a fun sewing workshop.
November 16 – December 30: Snow Los Angeles is a stunning 9-acre winter wonderland, with over 10,000 square feet of downhill snow tubing lanes, plus a magical blizzard every hour and a giant snowman forest light show.

November 3-16: Join ESMoA for a variety of fun art activities this month. Play, tinker, build, rebuild, engineer and tune-up inventions using recycled tinkering materials provided by ESMoA.
November 16: Join a holiday kickoff at The Pike Outlets. Featuring a ribbon cutting with the LA Kings, surprise performance, tree lighiting, music, and a vist from Santa.
Daily: A monthly calendar of story times, crafts, homework help and family-friendly events at libraries in the Los Angeles library system.
November 13-25: Jenna, a waitress and expert pie maker, dreams of a way out of her small town and loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s new doctor may offer her a chance at a fresh start.

Guests of all ages can embrace the joy of Christmas at Knott’s Merry Farm, with classic shows like the Holiday Ice Show featuring Snoopy, the Peanuts Gang and a cast of world class ice skaters, the nightly tree lighting ceremony and The Christmas Carol.
March 24 – January 6, 2019: A new chapter of ancient Egyptian history will be unearthed to the world with the debut of KING TUT: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, an exclusive exhibition celebrating the 100-year anniversary of the discovery of his tomb.
November 2-18: Come along as Nate the Great searches for clues and gathers the facts in this clever, new musical that teaches us to see the world in new ways. Plus, kids can meet the actors after every show.
November 9-11 and 16-18: Based on Louisa May Alcott’s American classic, this timeless and captivating story is brought to life as a musical, presented by Long Beach Landmark Theatre Company.
November 15-17: Presented by Arts & Learning Conservatory. Performances on Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. $12-25.
Fridays: Kids (2+) make edible art using fruits and other foods donated by Trader Joe’s. Create a tasty masterpiece that looks and tastes good.
Through December 29: Audiences of all ages can delight in a little theme park-style magic at the Shrine with Reflections of the Face of Lincoln, an immersive presentation featuring special effects, multi-media elements, and spectacular animatronics in a moving portrait of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War era.
November 1-30: Kids can participate in a variety of activities depending on the special event. Activities this month focus on gratitude, family and the importance of being thankful for the many blessings in our lives.
