Annual Youth Leadership Conference

October 20: The Casa Youth Shelter hosts the annual conference for youth and adults. Come and experience a day of self-discovery, friendship, cultural exchange, leadership building, inspiration, and service.

Spooky Science at Discovery Cube OC & LA

October 6-31: Calling all ghouls and goblins! Spend this Halloween season dressed up and ready to explore at Discovery Cube’s Spooky Science exhibit!

Spider Pavilion at the Natural History Museum

September 16 – November 25: Have a one-of-a-kind experience in the only Spider Pavilion in the U.S. Get a glimpse of the private lives of spiders in the open-air pavilion that is designed as a safe space to get up close to these amazing arachnids.

Silverado Days in Buena Park

October 19-21: Bring the family and join the fun with carnival rides, games, contest, food, entertainment and raffles. Contests include the Baby Classic (Saturday, noon); Mutt Show (Sunday, noon); Pie Eating Contest (Saturday, 1 p.m.); and Hog Calling (Sunday, 3 p.m.).

Star Party at Griffith Observatory

October 20: Look through a large variety of professional and home-built telescopes to view the sun, planets, the moon and deep sky objects like double-stars, star clusters and nebulae.

Pumpkin Patch at Irvine Park Railroad

September 15 – October 31: Pick the perfect pumpkin, go on a train or hay ride, race on tractors, play a carnival game, decorate cookies, or the ponies, jump around in a bounce house, wander through the hay maze or the haunted house, get your face painted, pan for gold, and more.

September 22 – October 28: Enjoy silly spooky shows, delightful Halloween dance parties and trick-or-treating in a safe, family-friendly environment.

September 29 and October 6, 13, 20, and 27: Brick-or-Treat Party Nights at Legoland California Resort is back with more Halloween excitement.

Calabasas Pumpkin Festival

October 20-21: The Pumpkin Festival offers live bands, a DJ dance zone, marketplace vendors, delicious food & pumpkin treats, pumpkin beer, pumpkin painting, professional pumpkin carving and so much more!

Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest in Belmont Shore

October 20: Seasoned and emergent visual artists, including participants from local high schools and universities will use the sidewalks of 2nd St. to display their drawings.

Apple Season in Oak Glen

October 19-21: Join hordes of rotting revelers for Long Beach’s annual zombie outbreak, a three-day invasion of undead music and horror for all ages.
