September 16 – November 25: Have a one-of-a-kind experience in the only Spider Pavilion in the U.S. Get a glimpse of the private lives of spiders in the open-air pavilion that is designed as a safe space to get up close to these amazing arachnids.
September 15 – October 31: Pick the perfect pumpkin, go on a train or hay ride, race on tractors, play a carnival game, decorate cookies, or the ponies, jump around in a bounce house, wander through the hay maze or the haunted house, get your face painted, pan for gold, and more.
Fridays, September 7 – December 28: Get up close with the ocean’s ultimate predators during free Shark Lagoon Nights.
Fridays – Sundays, September 15 – October 28: Halloween-themed “Fright Fest” runs with low-scare areas for younger kids.
Daily: See an Oscar statuette, visit the Dolby Lounge and other celebrity hot-spots, and see images from previous Academy Awards ceremonies.
Through late November: Working apple orchards in Oak Glen, a mountain town halfway between Riverside and Palm Springs, open their doors to the public. Some offer U-pick apples.
September 22 – October 31: Pick your own pumpkin right off the vine, take a wagon ride around the 30-acre farm, and visit the corn maze and petting zoo.
September 15 – October 31: Pick pumpkins, pet Zoomar’s collection of animals, ride ponies, pan for gemstones and more.
September 20 – October 31: Scary Farm (13+) features 14 haunted attractions and over a thousand costumed monsters roaming the park.
Daily: Movies at discounted prices.
Fridays: Every Friday night is Date Night with Frogg’s Bounce House. Drop the kids off and enjoy a night out!
Weekends, September 21 – October 28: Gather friends and family to celebrate Oktoberfest with German food, dancing, kids’ activites and crafts.
September 23-October 31: The farm features all fall activities including pumpkins, digging in the Peltzer Mine, pig races, train rides, pony rides and a petting farm.
Fridays: This fun tournament is open to all K-6th graders and includes three hours of chess, pizza and juice, plus trophies for the top four players in each age group!
Thursday – Sunday: The Great Park’s tethered, 118-foot-high, helium-filled balloon allows passengers to soar 400 feet in the air for a birds eye view. The carousel reaches a speed of 4.5 mph.
June 1 – September 29: Spread out your blanket or set up your beach chairs for a free family movie in the sand.
September 16 – November 30: Can you locate the bird houses inhabited by parrots, owls, blue birds and hawks to collect their clues and find the missing pumpkin patch?
Ongoing: Join the Halos for a behind-the-scenes tour of baseball’s fourth-oldest stadium, including areas normally restricted to the public.
Friday: LACMA staff reads folk tales and age-appropriate books on art and culture.
September 28-29: The month of September is My Gym’s 35th Anniversary! Come help them celebrate with their big “Back to School Open House/Safety Day.”
Friday – Sunday: Visit a large-scale permanent craft marketplace in classic World War II-era waterside warehouses, plus creation stations, printmaking workshops, daily demonstrations, live music, special events and food trucks.
April 6 – September 28: Enjoy free evening concert tribute performances spanning all musical genres, including rock, ethnic, pop and more!
Fridays: Binge-watch anime during Teen Anime Club every first and third Friday, and see popular and not-so-popular films during Teen Flicks every second and fourth Friday (ages 13-18).
June 18: Head to the rancho each month for guided tours and gain new knowledge about California’s history.
Last Friday: Parents drop kids off for a night of cooking.
Daily: A monthly calendar of story times, crafts, homework help and family-friendly events at libraries in the Orange County library system.
Daily: A monthly calendar of family-friendly hikes, walks, tours and more at parks in the Orange County Parks system.
Friday and Saturday: Parents drop off the kids and enjoy a night out on their own. Three hours of awesome games on the custom server and game maps with favorite BrainStorm instructors.
Every other Friday: Parents’ drop off the kids (4+) for a night of activities, games, pizza, snacks, drinks, a movie and whole lot of bouncing fun.
Friday: Families help staff members feed the sea stars in the touch tanks.
September 28: Big Bird, Elmo and their friend from China, Hu Hu Zhu, take viewers on a journey of discovery to learn about the Big Dipper, the North Star, the Sun and the Moon.
September 14 – November 3: The movie studio that invented the horror genre brings to life all-new immersive worlds of living, breathing icons from the most twisted imaginations in film and television.
September 28 – October 31: A fun place for the enire family, you’ll find a large variety of pumpkins to choose from, plus haystacks, corn stalks and gourds. Enjoy the snack bar, pony ride, petting zoo, games and rides, all in a country fair atmosphere.
September 22 – October 31: Come experience the wonder of four pumpkin patches with their fantastic rides, slides, ponies, petting zoos, games, food and more!
September 30 – October 31: Pick out a pumpkin and enjoy rides, activities and game booths, a petting zoo, pony rides, puppet shows and photo opps.
September 27 – November 2: Recommended for ages 12+. The Queen Mary promises the most intense season of SoCal’s most authentic haunted attraction, Dark Harbor.
Wednesday and Fridays: Kids (7+) join Fashion Camp every Friday for a fun sewing workshop.
Fourth Fridays: For teens with their own sewing machines, who are dying to learn new techniques, sew age appropriate projects and make new friends!
August 31 – October 21: Surround yourself in a world of magic this Hallowen season at Roger’s Gardens.
Ongoing: This behind-the-scenes tour lets fans visit some of the most restricted and non-public areas and view the Stadium from a whole new perspective.
Last Fridays: Teens (11-14) give their parents a night off and celebrate good times with friends at the Recreation Center and Teen Lounge.
September 29 – October 31: Daring kids (10+) can tour the Scream Zone’s House of Horrors, Karnevil and Haunted Hayride while parents hang out in the free lounge.
Fridays and Saturdays: All ages Glow Night Includes front of the line admission to all activities, unlimited admission to the Game Zone that includes over 20 digital games, GLOW Dunk contests and GLOW Bull Riding Contests!
Most days: Studio tours include a two-hour guided portion and self guided visit to Stage 48: Script-to-Screen (approximately three hours). Explore iconic backlots, The Archive and The Picture Car Vault.
September 23 and September 25-29: Stop by CMA during Sea Otter Awareness Week and learn more about this amazing marine mammal.
Daily: A monthly calendar of story times, crafts, homework help and family-friendly events at libraries in the Los Angeles library system.

October 20-29: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is a classic tale of love, hope, and revenge set against the vicious backdrop of a lawless society.
Daily: Educational robotic and static dinosaur displays, plus dino-themed activities including inflatable obstacles, Ride-a-T-Rex, fossil panning, maze, and more!
September 27-30 and October 6-7: In Disney/Pixar’s COCO, a vibrant tale of family, fun and adventure, aspiring young musician Miguel embarks on an extraordinary journey to the magical land of his ancestors.
March 24 – January 6, 2019: A new chapter of ancient Egyptian history will be unearthed to the world with the debut of KING TUT: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, an exclusive exhibition celebrating the 100-year anniversary of the discovery of his tomb.
Fridays: Join in the story-telling fun! After a story, learn more about the natural history of the Bay through crafts, hands-on activities and nature walks.
