Weekends and second Tuesdays: Eureka! Learn how to pan for gold, just like the 49ers did during the California gold rush, at an outdoor re-creation of a miner’s panning station.

July 13 – August 12: The OC Fair is offers 23 days of food, rides, exhibits, animals, music, action sports, concerts and fun!

Sigler Park Splash Pad

Weekends, May 26 – June 17 and daily, June 23 – September 3: Splash Pad water features include ten-foot-tall pelicans, palm trees and sea horses.

Sunset at the Santa Ana Zoo

June 24, July 8 and 22: Friends of Santa Ana Zoo host these after hour’s concert series and tasting events that feature live music, art by local artisans, Zoo animals, Train and Carrousel rides.

Summer Safari at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park

June 23 – August 12: Summer Safari at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is a family-friendly, summertime festival that celebrates Asia with music, dancing, drumming and acrobatics!

Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach

June 29 – September 2: Kids can take a spin at the potter’s wheel, see a glass-blowing demonstration, or take a seat in the Children’s Art Spot (4+) or Studio One (7+) to try painting, printmaking, collages and other types of art.

Free Train Rides at Fairview Park

Third weekends: Free model train rides are offered by Orange County Model Engineers.

Summer Reading Programs

June 1 – August 15: Many libraries offer homework help, including academic workshops and story times. Plus, join the Summer Reading Program, June 1 – August 15. Young readers (kids and teens) at most Los Angeles County and Orange County libraries will enjoy a “Build a Better World” theme.

Target Free Sunday at MOLAA

Rides on the Great Park Balloon and Carousel in Irvine
