June 29 – September 2: Kids can take a spin at the potter’s wheel, see a glass-blowing demonstration, or take a seat in the Children’s Art Spot (4+) or Studio One (7+) to try painting, printmaking, collages and other types of art.
June 1 – August 31: Take a guided wagon ride around the farm, stop at different areas and try different summer fruits and vegetables, and finally step into the melon patch to sample delicious home grown melon.
Daily: Kids Bowl Free returns for its 11th summer! Kids across North America can bowl for free all summer long at one of 1,300+ participating bowling centers.
July 7 – September 1: Where art comes to life, the pageant features 90 minutes of “living pictures” – incredibly faithful art re-creations of classical and contemporary works with real people.
May 21 – September 3: Now through Labor Day, bowlers of all ages can buy a Summer Games Pass and enjoy up to three games of bowling every single day for the entire summer.
Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, June 19 – August 21: Watch family movies while lounging in the sand under the stars. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs and a picnic.
Thursdays, July 5 – August 16: This all-ages outdoor dance party features the best salsa bands in Los Angeles, plus dance lessons that are sure to get some feet moving!
June 21, July 12 and August 2: The Renegade Summer Trail Run Series includes a Rough Fit Kids Obstacle Course and a great play area!
July 12 – August 2: Bring blankets, chairs and a picnic dinner for a free concert with friends and family. There is a Kids’ Zone at each concert with arts and crafts, run buy the city’s aquatics staff.
July 12: Kids play golf with their parents or grandparents, while raising money for The Youth Center in Los Alamitos.
Weekdays, July 5 – August 17: Bring out that creative spark at the Festival of Arts. Kids (5-12) can enjoy art classes taught by professional festival artists in mixed-media, jewelry making, collage and more.
June 12 – August 18: Watch a different kid-favorite movie each week all summer long at Harkins Theatres.
Most days: Studio tours include a two-hour guided portion and self guided visit to Stage 48: Script-to-Screen (approximately three hours). Explore iconic backlots, The Archive and The Picture Car Vault.
July 8-20: Casa Romantica’s third annual Music Festival and Academy is a two-week intensive music academy for children ages 8-13 of all skill levels.
Daily: A monthly calendar of story times, crafts, homework help and family-friendly events at libraries in the Los Angeles library system.
Through September 2: Celebrate art with 125 fine artists and artisans at the Laguna Art-A-Fair, one of California’s summer art destinations.
Through September 9: Gear up for the ultimate rainforest adventure to explore and learn about these tropical environments.

Through September 3: Sherman Library & Gardens presents “Sandscapes,” a sand sculpture display on view, made up of 15 tons of sand!
