Children’s Book Week

April 30 – May 6: Special events and activities will be held in libraries and schools throughout our area.

Dolby Theatre Guided Tours

Daily: See an Oscar statuette, visit the Dolby Lounge and other celebrity hot-spots, and see images from previous Academy Awards ceremonies.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

March 1 – May 13: The nearly 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are in bloom for just six to eight weeks each year, bringing the famous fields back to life.

Movie Deals and Theater Child Care

Daily: Movies at discounted prices.

Duplo Family Play Day in Costa Mesa

Mondays: Children and their families are welcome to visit one of the Duplo tables in the library’s lobby.

Caterpillar Adoption Days at Kidspace

March 17 – May 6: Adopt a caterpillar in the Busy Bee Learning Store to experience the magic of metamorphosis.

Family Autism Play Days at Pretend City

Last Mondays: Spend a few hours enjoying family play, for families with children on the Autism Spectrum.

Tour Angels Stadium in Anaheim

Ongoing: Join the Halos for a behind-the-scenes tour of baseball’s fourth-oldest stadium, including areas normally restricted to the public.

Wild for the Planet at the LA Zoo

April 21 – May 18: Wild for the Planet spans four weeks, spotlighting the Zoo’s conservation efforts and what people can do to protect and preserve Planet Earth. Events for families and youngsters take place daily.

Tours at Dominguez Rancho

June 18: Head to the rancho each month for guided tours and gain new knowledge about California’s history.

Orange County Libraries Daily Story Times and Events

Daily: A monthly calendar of story times, crafts, homework help and family-friendly events at libraries in the Orange County library system.

Orange County Parks Daily Activities

Daily: A monthly calendar of family-friendly hikes, walks, tours and more at parks in the Orange County Parks system.

Paint Yard at Pretend City in Irvine

April 2-30: Practice your artistic talents at Pretend City’s outdoor Paint Yard! This area will combine environmental education and art.

Dodgers Stadium Tour in Los Angeles

Ongoing: This behind-the-scenes tour lets fans visit some of the most restricted and non-public areas and view the Stadium from a whole new perspective.

Very Eric Carle at Discovery Cube Los Angeles

Through May 13: The Very Eric Carle Exhibit invites early learners on a journey of discovery! Kids can become a butterfly, weave a web or roll in the grass

Warner Bros. Studio Tour

Most days: Studio tours include a two-hour guided portion and self guided visit to Stage 48: Script-to-Screen (approximately three hours). Explore iconic backlots, The Archive and The Picture Car Vault.

Peter Pan The Musical in Long Beach

April 27 – May 6: Just past the second star on the right, and straight on til morning! Fly to Neverland and go on a musical adventure with Peter, Wendy, and the Lost Boys.

Los Angeles Libraries Daily Story Times and Events

Daily: A monthly calendar of story times, crafts, homework help and family-friendly events at libraries in the Los Angeles library system.

Titanic in Photographs: The Exhibition at The Queen Mary

Through July 2018: Take a journey back in time, through the eyes of passengers who were on the Titanic.

Wonder of Dinosaurs in Redondo Beach

Daily: Educational robotic and static dinosaur displays, plus dino-themed activities including inflatable obstacles, Ride-a-T-Rex, fossil panning, maze, and more!

Monthly Kids Story Time at SoCo and The OC Mix

Mondays: Enjoy an hour of song, story, and coordinated art projects for pre-schoolers and their mothers and fathers.

KING TUT: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh at the California Science Center

March 24 – January 6, 2019: A new chapter of ancient Egyptian history will be unearthed to the world with the debut of KING TUT: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, an exclusive exhibition celebrating the 100-year anniversary of the discovery of his tomb.

Rainforest Adventure at Discovery Cube OC

Through September 9: Gear up for the ultimate rainforest adventure to explore and learn about these tropical environments.

Genghis Khan: The Exhibition at the Reagan Library

February 16 – August 19: Discover the man behind the legend. Now the most comprehensive exhibition of Genghis Khan and his treasures invades the Reagan Library, its only Southern California stop on an international tour.

Candytopia in Santa Monica

March 5 – July 4: Explore the sprawling sanctuary of Candytopia. This four-month event celebrates the vibrant colors and flavors of favorite sugary delights through a series of interactive art installations in over a dozen environments, from flying unicorn pigs to a marshmallow tsunami.
