Bubblefest XXII at Discovery Cube Orange County

March 24 – April 8: Pop into Spring Break with this bubble spectacular, featuring hands-on family fun, the return of Deni Yang and the Mega Bubblefest Laser Show. Bubblefest provides learners of all ages the opportunity to interact with bubble activities and learn more about the science behind the soapy fun.

Pan for Gold at the Autry

Weekends and second Tuesdays: Eureka! Learn how to pan for gold, just like the 49ers did during the California gold rush, at an outdoor re-creation of a miner’s panning station.

Easter Eggstravaganza with Irvine Regional Railroad

March 10-31: The annual Easter Eggstravaganza includes visits with the Easter Bunny, a moon bounce, egg hunts for ages 2-12, train rides, cookie decorating, games and activities for the whole family.

Butterfly Jungle at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park

March 24 – March 30: Thousands of exotic butterflies create a flurry of color and beauty as they flutter freely around you inside a huge aviary in the Hidden Jungle.

Weekend Scenic Train Excursions in Fillmore

Saturdays: Take a four-hour, round-trip train ride through the citrus and avocado groves of the Heritage Valley on board vintage 1930’s passenger and dining cars.

Dig It! Archaeology Adventures at the Skirball

Weekends: In a hands-on, simulated dig, kids experience the ancient Near East, learning methods for excavating a site and the importance of preserving archaeological artifacts.

Free Archery Instruction at El Dorado Park

Saturdays: Get pointers to improve skills, and consistent shooting technique. Equipment provided. Saturday classes include, advanced, 9 a.m. and beginner 10:30 a.m. Safety class required.

Dolby Theatre Guided Tours

Daily: See an Oscar statuette, visit the Dolby Lounge and other celebrity hot-spots, and see images from previous Academy Awards ceremonies.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

March 1 – May 13: The nearly 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are in bloom for just six to eight weeks each year, bringing the famous fields back to life.

Pan For Gold Make an Adobe Brick and Arrowhead Necklaces at the Mission

Saturday and Sunday: Try your luck at finding the gold in the custom-designed Mission trough. They’ll supply the pan and the “gold” kids roll up their sleeves and pan their way to riches.

Easter on the Farm in Moorpark

March 24 – April 8: Celebrate Easter at Underwood Family Farms, with Easter Bunny photo opps, games, a kids’ corral, bee barn, hay pyramid, combine slide, tractor-drawn wagon ride, shows and antique tractor and machinery displays.

Family Game Day at OC Great Park

March 24: Saturdays are for family and fun. Bring a picnic and enjoy a day at the park. Lawn games, board games, crafts and other activities will be provided to kick-start your weekend.

Rides on the Great Park Balloon and Carousel in Irvine

Thursday – Sunday: The Great Park’s tethered, 118-foot-high, helium-filled balloon allows passengers to soar 400 feet in the air for a birds eye view. The carousel reaches a speed of 4.5 mph.
