Bud, Not Buddy in La Mirada

February 22: Set in Michigan during the 1930s, Bud, Not Buddy tells the story of 10-year-old Bud Caldwell, an orphan on the run from abusive foster homes, and his quest to find his father.

Dolby Theatre Guided Tours

Daily: See an Oscar statuette, visit the Dolby Lounge and other celebrity hot-spots, and see images from previous Academy Awards ceremonies.

Curiosity Carts at San Juan Capistrano Mission

Tuesday and Thursday: Each educational cart offers learning for students and visitors interested in seeing items up close.

Long Beach Coin and Stamp Expo

February 22-24: A venue for dealers, mints, collectors, and numismatic and philatelic organizations. Free kids’ treasure hunt for the young numismatist, or young collector, on the bourse floor during the show on Saturday.

Rides on the Great Park Balloon and Carousel in Irvine

Thursday – Sunday: The Great Park’s tethered, 118-foot-high, helium-filled balloon allows passengers to soar 400 feet in the air for a birds eye view. The carousel reaches a speed of 4.5 mph.

Half-Off Admission to 45 Museums in San Diego

February 1-28: Museum Month is back for the 29th year in San Diego County. This popular event allows participants to enjoy half-off entry fees at more than 40 San Diego Museums.

Kids Happy Hour at Dream Come True Party Room

Most Wednesdays – Thursdays: Time for the kiddos to unwind from a long day. Stop by for dress-up from the Castle Wardrobe, face painting, snacks and crafts.

Alpine Slide and Snow Play

November – March: Head to the hills! It’s prime tubing time at the Big Bear Snow Play. Then, take a chairlift ride to the top of the Alpine Slide.

Snowdrift Snow Tubing Park

Through March: Southern California’s largest and oldest snow tubing park, Snowdrift offers tubing fun on snow tubes that are specially designed with belly straps and handles.

Mt. Baldy Tubing Park

Thanksgiving weekend – end of snow season: Ride to the top of Sugarpine Chair Lift #1 for a zip downhill at the Mt. Baldy Tubing Park.

North Pole Tubing Park at Mountain High

December – Mid-March: For the closest snow tubing in Southern California head to the North Pole Tubing Park at Mountain High’s North Resort!

Snow Valley Snow Play

Through March: Enjoy a scenic chairlift ride followed by a thrilling downhill sled ride.

Big Bear Snow Play

Mid-November through Easter: Day and night “glow” tubing at Big Bear Snow Play.

Urban Kids Consignment

February 21 – March 18: Luzia takes you to an imaginary Mexico, like in a waking dream, where light (“luz” in Spanish) quenches the spirit and rain (“lluvia”) soothes the soul.

Try Out Long Beach Jr Roller Derby

Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays: Kids (5-17) interested in roller derby can join Long Beach Jr Roller Derby for practice.
