October 16 – November 30: The Ultimate Recycling Machine is back at Pretend City Children’s Museum. This large scale hands-on experience geared towards school-aged children combines engineering, collaboration, and sustainability.
September 17 – November 26: Hundreds of spiders are on view in the pavilion, along with scorpions and tarantulas in terrariums just outside.
November 18- January 6: SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration includes Rudolph’s Christmastown, Santa’s Christmas Village, and more than a million and a half holiday lights throughout the park.
November 5 – December 26: Visit The Old Globe for Dr. Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas! A wonderful, whimsical musical based upon the classic Dr. Seuss book.
Daily: See an Oscar statuette, visit the Dolby Lounge and other celebrity hot-spots, and see images from previous Academy Awards ceremonies.
November 23: The Kids’ Half-Mile Wingding Fun Run will begin at the Belmont Pier in Belmont Shore. Plus, adults 5K/10K.
Through November 26: Working apple orchards in Oak Glen, a mountain town halfway between Riverside and Palm Springs, open their doors to the public. Some offer U-pick apples.
November 1 – January 15: Downtown Santa Monica brings a little ice to the beachside community with ICE.
Daily: Movies at discounted prices.
Tuesday and Thursday: Each educational cart offers learning for students and visitors interested in seeing items up close.
Thursday – Sunday: The Great Park’s tethered, 118-foot-high, helium-filled balloon allows passengers to soar 400 feet in the air for a birds eye view. The carousel reaches a speed of 4.5 mph.
October 1 – November 30: Take a walk through the Garden and be on the lookout for ten festive fall stations. Each station will be decorated and have a pumpkin sign with questions about the Garden.
November 23: Kids’ Gobble Wobble one-mile Race (5-12) starts at 10:15 a.m. Tour the beautiful beaches, majestic cliffs and coves of Dana Point.
November 7 – December 24: Kids can create and decorate a letter to Santa, print it out and drop it off at a Santa Mailbox at a Macy’s department store.
Most Wednesdays – Thursdays: Time for the kiddos to unwind from a long day. Stop by for dress-up from the Castle Wardrobe, face painting, snacks and crafts.
November 23: Join the 12th annual O’Side Turkey Trot that benefits Oceanside schools. There is a 5K, 10K and kids’ fun runs.
November 22-24: Make Y Camp Marston your family tradition for Turkey Day! Families arrive late Wednesday afternoon, enjoy hot chocolate and a night hike that evening.
November 23: Kids 12 and under can run a 1K race along the sand in Huntington Beach. Families and strollers are welcome at the back of the pack in the 5K and 10K, too.
November 23: Head to Downtown LA Thanksgiving morning to run through the streets. The event includes a Widdle Wobble for kids 2-12, discount 5K and 10K registration for runners ages 5-17.
November 17 – January 7: With the flick of a switch, the zoo is set aglow with breathtaking displays. Guests enjoy LED lights by the thousands, giant illuminated snowflakes, a disco ball forest, glittering twinkle tunnels, stunning 3-D animated projections and more.
Thurdays: The Farmers Market features local California certified farmers, gourmet foods, craft fair and the homegrown music series.
November 19 – January 1: The park is transformed into a winter wonderland with thousands of colorful lights, carolers performing classic yuletide favorites and personalized meet-and-greets with Santa and his helpers.

November 23: Run a quick race before you stuff your face! All ages are invited to this Thanksgiving morning 5K, starting and ending at Pali High.
Daily: A monthly calendar of family-friendly hikes, walks, tours and more at parks in the Orange County Parks system.
Various Thursdays: Kids increase their reading skills and self-confidence by reading aloud to certified therapy dogs.
November 18 – January 7: The annual exhibition, Muzeo Express, celebrates the holiday season with model trains, miniature scenes and hands on activities, sure to be a holiday favorite for children and enthusiasts alike.
November 23 – January 1: Skating by the Sea returns to Hotel del Coronado for the 13th year. The spectacular ice rink is located seaside on Windsor Lawn and features stunning views of the Pacific and Coronado beach.
Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays: Kids (5-17) interested in roller derby can join Long Beach Jr Roller Derby for practice.
November 19 – January 7: Two theatrical lighting houses have created 12 unique, large-scale lighting experiences that illuminate a mile-long walk through Descanso Gardens.
Ongoing: This behind-the-scenes tour lets fans visit some of the most restricted and non-public areas and view the Stadium from a whole new perspective.
Daily: Parents and toddlers join Sky Zone for a fun time just for them. Get access to the toddler court and foam pit!
Thursdays: Build something spectacular based on this week’s challenge.Legos provided, you bring iyour imagination.School Aged Children.

Through July 2018: Take a journey back in time, through the eyes of passengers who were on the Titanic.
November 17 – January 7: Join the Los Angeles Zoo for some holiday fun and the oppertunity to see real reindeer. Guests are invited to make the most of the season with a full day of adventure filled with holiday crafts and more.
Daily: Educational robotic and static dinosaur displays, plus dino-themed activities including inflatable obstacles, Ride-a-T-Rex, fossil panning, maze, and more!

Henry’s “A Gift of the Magi” at the Bird Cage, a crafts fair, carolers, holiday decorations, and nightly snow in Ghost Town.
