Parents Night Out at BounceU Orange

Every other Friday: Parents’ drop off the kids (4+) for a night of activities, games, pizza, snacks, drinks, a movie and whole lot of bouncing fun.

Pan for Gold at the Autry

Weekends and second Tuesdays: Eureka! Learn how to pan for gold, just like the 49ers did during the California gold rush, at an outdoor re-creation of a miner’s panning station.

Orange County Fair 2017

July 14 – August 13: The OC Fair is offers 23 days of food, rides, exhibits, animals, music, action sports, concerts and fun!

Sigler Park Splash Pad

Weekends, May 27 – June 18 and daily, June 24 – September 4: Splash Pad water features include ten-foot-tall pelicans, palm trees and sea horses.

Butterfly Pavilion at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles

March 19 – September 4: The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHMLA) has re-designed and re-built its popular outdoor Butterfly Pavilion exhibit.

Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach

June 30 – September 3: Kids can take a spin at the potter’s wheel, see a glass-blowing demonstration, or take a seat in the Children’s Art Spot (4+) or Studio One (7+) to try painting, printmaking, collages and other types of art.

Summer Reading Programs

June 1 – August 15: Many libraries offer homework help, including academic workshops and story times. Plus, join the Summer Reading Program, June 1 – August 15. Young readers (kids and teens) at most Los Angeles County and Orange County libraries will enjoy a “Build a Better World” theme.

Summer Crafts for Kids at Mission San Juan Capistrano

June 19 – August 11: Kids (6-12) can drop in weekdays for a variety of crafts.

Shakespeare by the Sea Performances

June 15 – August 19: Bring picnics, blankets, chairs and warm clothes to these family friendly performances of “The Taming of the Shrew” and “MacBeth.”

Annual Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts

July 5 – August 31: For over 80 years, this famous festival has featured multimedia art exhibits, demonstrations, workshops for adults and kids, art tours, live music and food for sale.

U-Pick Melon Tours at Tanaka Farms

July 1-31: Take a guided wagon ride around the farm, stop at different areas and try different summer fruits and vegetables, and finally step into the melon patch to sample delicious home grown melon.

Kids’ Activities at the Downtown Fullerton Market

Thursdays, April 6 – November 7: The Fullerton Market is the place to come and enjoy fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, handcrafted artisan products, live music and entertainment, plus crafts and activities at the Kids’ Korner and food vendors.

Academic Chess Friday Knights

Fridays: This fun tournament is open to all K-6th graders and includes three hours of chess, pizza and juice, plus trophies for the top four players in each age group!

Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program

May 16 – September 5: Kids read any eight books, record them, and bring the completed journal to any Barnes & Noble store to receive a free book.

Family Twilight Fishing in Fullerton

July 21: Bring your kids fishing when the fish bite best – twilight. They supply the tackle, worms, and a reserved fishing location.

Kids Night Out at Los Alamitos Youth Center

Third Fridays: Kids (5-11 and 12-14) enjoy a scavenger hunt, karaoke, dance, arts and crafts, games, sports, contests and more.

Guys and Dolls in Long Beach

July 1 – August 5: Set in mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic musical comedy that takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.

July 19-23: The Knights of Valour bring the thrill and spectacle of full-contact jousting along with exciting displays of horsemanship and medieval pageantry.
