April 21 – May 14: From the first notes to the final breath, West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time.

Pan for Gold at the Autry

Weekends and second Tuesdays: Eureka! Learn how to pan for gold, just like the 49ers did during the California gold rush, at an outdoor re-creation of a miner’s panning station.

Butterfly Pavilion at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles

March 19 – September 4: The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHMLA) has re-designed and re-built its popular outdoor Butterfly Pavilion exhibit.

Tour a Tallship in Dana Point

Sundays: Tour the Tallship Brig Pilgrim, an authentic replica of the two-masted brig that Richard Henry Dana Jr. sailed into Dana Point Harbor in 1834.

Railfest 2017 in Fillmore

April 29-30: Two days of special excursions, railroad displays, craft vendors, model train display, turntable display, speeder rides and frontier gunfighters.

Target Free Sunday at MOLAA

Sundays: MOLAA’s Target Free Sundays offer visitors the opportunity to learn about Latin American culture through art workshops, live performances, and gallery tours.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

March 1 – May 14: The nearly 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are in bloom for just six to eight weeks each year, bringing the famous fields back to life.

Free Kids’ Fishing Clinic in Dana Point

Sundays: Dana Wharf Sportfishing offers a dockside experience for young fisherman.

Bob Baker Marionette Theater in Los Angeles

Weekends: The audience is always part of the show when the world famous Bob Baker Marionettes perform in-the-round.

Pan For Gold Make an Adobe Brick and Arrowhead Necklaces at the Mission

Urban Ocean Festival at the Aquarium of the Pacific

April 29-30: Explore and celebrate Southern California’s coast during the Aquarium’s annual Urban Ocean Festival.

Rides on the Great Park Balloon and Carousel in Irvine

Thursday – Sunday: The Great Park’s tethered, 118-foot-high, helium-filled balloon allows passengers to soar 400 feet in the air for a birds eye view. The carousel reaches a speed of 4.5 mph.

Antique Aircraft Display Days in Fullerton

Second Sundays: Visitors are invited to view the display of classic aircraft at the Fullerton Municipal Airport.

America’s Family Pet Expo in Costa Mesa

April 28-30: Attendees enjoy a weekend full of cute creatures on display and in interactive stage shows, competitions and demonstrations. The Expo also features thousands of pet products for sale at special show prices, the latest trends in pet grooming and care, and hundreds of animals available for adoption.

Wild for the Planet at the LA Zoo

April 22 – May 19: Wild for the Planet spans four weeks, spotlighting the Zoo’s conservation efforts and what people can do to protect and preserve Planet Earth. Events for families and youngsters take place daily.

Upland Lemon Festival

April 28-30: When life gives you lemons, pucker up and head out to the Upland Lemon Festival where everything lemony is celebrated, from food to contests to entertainment.

Sewing Sundays at Fashion Camp OC

Sundays: Kids (8+) can spend the day at Fashion Camp learning to sew! Campers will complete a project of their choice in one day – perfect for the beginner or returning student!
