Festival of Books in Los Angeles

April 22-23: An annual event held by the LA Times, featuring book signings, cooking demonstrations, poetry readings and kids’ storytelling and cartoon characters at two kids’ areas, plus music, drama and dance performances on six outdoor stages.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

March 1 – May 14: The nearly 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are in bloom for just six to eight weeks each year, bringing the famous fields back to life.
