FUN-Tastic Family Nights in Lakewood

March 3, 31 and April 28: Every day is a wonderful day to spend with your family! Come to The Centre at Sycamore Plaza in Lakewood and join your neighbors and friends at FUN-Tastic Family Nights.

Butterfly Pavilion at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles

March 19 – September 4: The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHMLA) has re-designed and re-built its popular outdoor Butterfly Pavilion exhibit.

Easter Eggstravaganza with Irvine Regional Railroad

March 25 – April 15: The annual Easter Eggstravaganza includes visits with the Easter Bunny, a moon bounce, egg hunts for ages 2-12, train rides, cookie decorating, games and activities for the whole family.

Butterfly Jungle at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park

March 11 – April 23: Thousands of exotic butterflies create a flurry of color and beauty as they flutter freely around you inside a huge aviary in the Hidden Jungle.

Free Shark Lagoon Nights at the Aquarium of the Pacific

Fridays, January 6 – June 9: Get up close with the ocean’s ultimate predators during free Shark Lagoon Nights.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

March 1 – May 14: The nearly 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are in bloom for just six to eight weeks each year, bringing the famous fields back to life.

Caterpillar Adoption Days at Kidspace

March 11 – April 23: Painted Lady Caterpillars will be available in the Busy Bee Learning Store (while supplies last on a weekly basis). Witness the magic of metamorphosis by adopting a Painted Lady Caterpillar.

Date Night by Frogg’s Bounce House

Fridays: Every Friday night is Date Night with Frogg’s Bounce House. Drop the kids off and enjoy a night out!

Academic Chess Friday Knights

Fridays: This fun tournament is open to all K-6th graders and includes three hours of chess, pizza and juice, plus trophies for the top four players in each age group!

AAA Child Passenger Safety in OC

February 28 and March 10, 24, 25 and 31: During this free carseat education class presented by AAA, learn about occupant-protection laws, how to select the right seat, how to correctly secure your child in a seat and installation tips.

Spring Sings in Newport Beach

March 31: Kids (3-5) and their parent or guardian discover spring in the center. Little Naturalist programs are outdoor experiential education classes designed for 3 – 5 year olds and their adult guardians.

March 30 – April 2: Find everything you need for babies through teens, at super-low prices.

Boone Children’s Gallery Storytimes at LACMA

Monday and Friday: Join Los Angeles Museum of Art in The Boone Children’s Gallery, located in the Hammer Building.

Family Art Night at the Norton Simon Museum

March 31: Look carefully at Liubov Popova’s The Traveler and discuss how she pieced together fragments of color, shapes and letters to give us clues about her subject. With this idea in mind, design your own chipboard puzzle using crayons, color sticks and color pencils.

Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles

Friday – Sunday: Visit a large-scale permanent craft marketplace in classic World War II-era waterside warehouses, plus creation stations, printmaking workshops, daily demonstrations, live music, special events and food trucks.

Teen Club in Garden Grove

Fridays: Anime Club is now every Friday! Unwind after a long week and watch anime with your friends (ages 13+).

Anaheim’s Farmers Park Market

Fridays: Farmers Park is a beautiful two-acre park featuring a grassy knoll, redwood boardwalk, community gardens and olive grove.

Parents Night Out with Lil’ Chef School in Irvine

Last Friday: Parents drop kids off for a night of cooking. Kids join Lil’ Chef for a “Pizza Night.” Where they’ll make their own dough from scratch and personal pizza, including three different toppings. Kids will also make the cookie of the month.

Orange County Libraries Daily Story Times and Events

Daily: A monthly calendar of story times, crafts, homework help and family-friendly events at libraries in the Orange County library system.

Minecraft Night for Kids Date NIght for Parents in Irvine

Fridays: Kids play Spleef and PvP with friends in the Roman Coliseum. Battle it out in the forests of the Hunger Games. And see if they have what it takes to breakout in Alcatraz Escape. Parents drop off the kids and enjoy a night out on their own.

Formula Drift Racing in Long Beach

March 31 – April 1: With a high-speed entry and very tight spacing between cars and walls, there is no room for mistakes, making the opening round of the Formula DRIFT season one of the most exciting events of the year.

Help Feed the Sea Stars at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium

Tuesday and Friday: Families help staff members feed the sea stars in the touch tanks.

Fashionable Fridays at Fashion Camp

Fridays: Kids (7+) join Fashion Camp every Friday for a fun sewing workshop.

Preschool Storytime at Once Upon a Storybook

Tuesdays and Fridays: Kids (3-5) and their parents join a themed storytime with rhymes and songs (at least three books), and a craft or science experiment.

Animal Action at Storymakery

Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays: Imagination at play! Join staff for a fun game of animal charades. For older kids, they use the Story Box, where a story will evolve with specific word tiles chosen from a box.

Story Adventures at Storymakery

Friday and Saturday: Kids (5+) and their family join the engaging, imaginative, and themed adventures of improvisational storytelling.

Finding Neverland at Segerstrom Center for the Arts

California Yarnscape in Los Angeles

March 14-June 25: See one-of-a-kind pieces by fiber artists, knitters, and crocheters that respond to the question, “What is a California landscape to you?”

Tinkergarten Spring Trial Classes

March 27-April 8: At Tinkergarten, families meet outdoors to connect and learn through play. In this free trial class, Tinkergarten Leader, will facilitate an expert-designed play scenario, allowing children of various ages and needs to explore, problem solve, communicate, collaborate, and create together.
