Orange at South Coast Rep

March 5-26: Leela is different. A teenager from India, she sketches life’s important moments in her journal. This touching story (suitable for age 13+; contains adult language) is about a unique young woman’s search for her place in the world.

Pan for Gold at the Autry

Weekends: Eureka! Learn how to pan for gold, just like the 49ers did during the California gold rush, at an outdoor re-creation of a miner’s panning station.

Butterfly Pavilion at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles

March 19 – September 4: The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHMLA) has re-designed and re-built its popular outdoor Butterfly Pavilion exhibit.

Tour a Tallship in Dana Point

Sundays: Tour the Tallship Brig Pilgrim, an authentic replica of the two-masted brig that Richard Henry Dana Jr. sailed into Dana Point Harbor in 1834.

Easter Eggstravaganza with Irvine Regional Railroad

March 25 – April 15: The annual Easter Eggstravaganza includes visits with the Easter Bunny, a moon bounce, egg hunts for ages 2-12, train rides, cookie decorating, games and activities for the whole family.

Butterfly Jungle at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park

March 11 – April 23: Thousands of exotic butterflies create a flurry of color and beauty as they flutter freely around you inside a huge aviary in the Hidden Jungle.

Target Free Sunday at MOLAA

Sundays: MOLAA’s Target Free Sundays offer visitors the opportunity to learn about Latin American culture through art workshops, live performances, and gallery tours.

Dig It! Archaeology Adventures at the Skirball

Weekends: In a hands-on, simulated dig, kids experience the ancient Near East, learning methods for excavating a site and the importance of preserving archaeological artifacts.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

March 1 – May 14: The nearly 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch are in bloom for just six to eight weeks each year, bringing the famous fields back to life.

Free Kids’ Fishing Clinic in Dana Point

Sundays: Dana Wharf Sportfishing offers a dockside experience for young fisherman.

Bob Baker Marionette Theater in Los Angeles

Weekends: The audience is always part of the show when the world famous Bob Baker Marionettes perform in-the-round.

Caterpillar Adoption Days at Kidspace

March 11 – April 23: Painted Lady Caterpillars will be available in the Busy Bee Learning Store (while supplies last on a weekly basis). Witness the magic of metamorphosis by adopting a Painted Lady Caterpillar.

Pan For Gold Make an Adobe Brick and Arrowhead Necklace at the Mission

Saturday and Sunday: Try your luck at finding the gold in the custom-designed mission trough, then roll up your sleeves and make your own adobe brick and/or arrowhead necklace.

Rides on the Great Park Balloon and Carousel in Irvine

Thursday – Sunday: The Great Park’s tethered, 118-foot-high, helium-filled balloon allows passengers to soar 400 feet in the air for a birds eye view. The carousel reaches a speed of 4.5 mph.

Family Night at Holiday Skate Center

Saturdays and Sundays: A family up to 5 can skate, including skate rental, for this special deal!

The Science Behind Pixar Exhibition at the California Science Center

October 15 – April 9: Enjoy a unique, first-time look into the Pixar moviemaking process, and explore the science and technology behind some of the most beloved animated films and their characters. This 12,000 sq. ft. interactive exhibition showcases the STEM concepts used by the artists and computer scientists who help bring Pixar’s films to the big screen.

Toddler Time at Sky Zone in Westminster

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays: Parents and toddlers join Sky Zone for a fun time just for them. Get access to the toddler court and foam pit!

Warner Bros. Studio Tour

Most days: Studio tours include a two-hour guided portion, as well as a self guided visit to Stage 48: Script-to-Screen. The entire experience lasts approximately three hours.
