There was no stopping our readers this summer. With the promise of free days and cool prizes, Kidsguide Challenge 2010 inspired many of you to try something new.
You visited fruit and vegetable farms, proudly watched your kid run their first kiddie marathons and did volunteer work as a family and, encouraged your little one’s venture into indoor pool diving.
Here are the latest Challenge winners:
Week 8 (Hobbies & Collecting) Winner – Eumurian Family
Theresa Eumurian wrote, “Our category – Rock Collecting!!!
While in Mammoth for vacation, my kids – Sierra (10) and Noah (8) collected special rocks for their rock collection from Obsidian Dome to add to their collection of Jade (from Jade beach in Big Sur) and pumice (also from Mammoth). Sierra also was able to go to Sacramento with her class and pan for gold in the water near Sutter’s Mill.”
Week 9 (Cultural) Winner – Gina Ross
The Ross family visit to Bowers Museum was recounted by Gina Ross: “My kids and I had a FABULOUS time at the Bowers Museum Kidseum. I wasn’t sure what to expect but the kids loved it! There were masks from different countries to play with, a trunk full of various clothes to try on, a reading area with books from all over the world, crafts featuring a specific culture…I could go on and on. The best part of this museum was that the kids could TOUCH, PLAY and INTERACT with all these cultural artifacts! We will definitely be returning to this wonderful museum.”
We want to hear more! Three more weeks are left in the challenge, and that means at least three more opportunities to throw your adventurer’s hat into the ring. Remember, multiple submissions (one for each new thing your family tries) are encouraged. Good luck and enjoy!
