Twenty-four boys and girls from China are eager to spend nine days this winter with families in the Long Beach area. The students, ages 15-16, want to live the normal everyday life of their host families, speak English and gain a better understanding of American culture.

The students, from the Beijing area, are sponsored by Nacel Open Door, a non-profit organization. Nacel Open Door’s mission is to promote international understanding and language education by offering accessible, quality exchange programs with a well-structured support network.

Host families are the heart of the exchange program. They welcome a student as a new member of the family and share their home, lifestyle and activities. Nacel Open Door welcomes diversity in its host families. Students are matched with families according to their interests and family priorities.

The students are accompanied by chaperons that also stay in the area with families and provide an excellent support network.  Students bring their own spending money and have insurance coverage.

The homestay dates are Jan. 18-27, 2011.  For more information contact
