December 7-8: The 5th Annual Nights of 1000 Lights celebration looks to be the best yet, with all new light displays, featuring more lights than ever. Visitors will enjoy a flurry of fun in the Central Garden, boogie through the disco inFERNo, and take a trip through the glistening light tunnel. Walk throughout the Gardens and soak up the technicolor displays; in the Tea Garden, join the hula dancers in singing Mele Kalikimaka; visit the gnome village on the way to Santa’s Workshop. All guests can enjoy complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, cookies and a make-your-own-smores station. Also, photo-op with Santa, holiday photo booth and fun arts and crafts activities. Optionally, no-host wine and beer bar, tamale vendor, holiday shopping available in the Garden Shop, and Cafe Jardin will offer a special prix fixe holiday dinner. (For dinner at the Cafe, tickets to the event and reservations are required.) Members, $10; non-members, $20; kids (3 and under), free. Friday and Saturday, 6-9 p.m. This is a rain or shine event.
