The center is filled with more than 100 interactive exhibits! Visit our newest, Planetary Research Station. Discover the wave tank, Virtual Volleyball, an indoor geyser, Laser Beam Harp, a hurricane simulator, a Boeing Delta III Rocket and Dino Quest, the world&#8217;s first interactive dinosaur adventure and Science of Hockey. Visitors can also experience an earthquake in the Shake Shack, lie on a bed of nails, create an animated movie or walk through a tornado. Educational workshops, summer science camps (see &#8220;Camps&#8221;) and a digital computer center (see &#8220;Computers&#8221;) are also offered. Admission: adults, $12.95; age 3-17, $9.95; under age 2, free.</p>

The aquarium offers numerous year-round programs: Preschool Programs (ages 4-5), $24; Aqua Tot (ages 2-3, with parent), $30; Job Shadow (grades 7-12), $29; Saturday Family Fun (ages 4-6, with parent), $36; Seal/Sea Lion/Sea Otter Encounter (ages 10+), Shark Encounter (ages 13+), $90; and Junior Biologist (ages 7-12), $24. Whale watching (in season) and family sleepovers are also offered. Hour-long, behind-the-scenes tours (ages 7+) offer a look at running a world-class aquarium, $15 (plus admission). Pre-registration is required for all programs. Ocean exploration  is available for school field trips, with hands-on, grade-specific programs. Member discounts are available.</p>

Two exciting weeks of science investigations. Students (entering grades 3-8) will do experiments and lab projects in college science laboratories. This year’s focus is on earth and space sciences, with topics that include Star Scientists, Science Rocks, Extreme Science, and Crime Solvers go Wild! The camp will be held August 9-20, weekday mornings, 8:30 am – noon, $300 ($25 sibling discount, $25 CSULB faculty/staff discount). Join them for two weeks of engaging science investigations which will help kids learn to think scientifically, communicate more effectively and improve their science process skills. Alpert JCC Engineering FUNdamentals with LEGOS &#8211; Youngsters explore concepts in physics, engineering and architecture in week-long camps offered by the AJCC and Play-Well TEKnologies. In Pre-Engineering with LEGOS, kids ages 5-7 build towns, cities and star bases. In Engineering FUNdamentals with LEGOS, 8-12 year-olds design and build motorized machines, houses, pyramids, bridges, catapults, buildings and other constructions. Neither the Alpert JCC nor Play-Well TEKnologies are affiliated with the LEGO Group. Offered two weeks; June 21 and August 23rd; choose one or both.</p>
<p>Alpert JCC Slippery Slimy Science Camp &#8211; A week of slippery, slimy science projects for kids entering grades 1-6 in fall 2010. Come dressed for a mess and roll up your sleeves with the wacky professor and his crew for this hands-on week of goop and slime. Learn the science behind silly putty and oobleck, and be the first one in your class to raise your hand when your teachers ask you about molecules, polymers and more. Week of June 28. </p>
<p>Alpert JCC Presents Mad Science: Secret Agent Lab &#8211; Kids entering grades 1-6 will take a walk on the wild side in this crazy week of sleuth science. Learn how to gather and analyze evidence, discover how technology works in the spy game and solve a crime in a hands-on investigation. Create and decode edible messages, and become a real-life CSIer! Week of August 16.</p>
