Alpert JCC Science Camps

Alpert JCC offers Jedi Engineering with LEGOSĀ®, Jedi Master Engineering with LEGOSĀ® and Science Factory.

Aquarium of the Pacific

The aquarium offers numerous year-round programs: Aqua Tot (2-3, with parent); Job Shadow (grades 7-12); Saturday Family Fun (4-6, with parent); Seals and Sea Lions/Sea Otter Encounter (10+), and Shark Encounter (13+); and Junior Biologist (7-12).

Blue Submarine

The Blue Submarine is a marine biology outreach program offering classes and activities for students Pre-K through 8th grade. Topics are presented in an interactive format and live tide pool animals are available for certain classes.

California Science Center

The new exhibit, Cleopatra, May 23 – December 31, features a collection of Cleopatra-era artifacts, separate ticket needed. Permanent exhibits include Ecosystems, Air and Space, World of Life and Creative World.

Columbia Memorial Space Science Learning Center

The center includes a robotics lab where kids can program their own Lego robots, an airplane and shuttle landing simulator, a paper airplane making station with launcher, a drop tower and a scale that gives kids their weight on all of the planets.

Discovery Science Center

120 hands-on science exhibits such as a real Boeing rocket engine, an interactive scavenger hunt throughout a two-story tall Argentinosaurus and a chance to go head to head with a NHL goalie!

ExplorOcean/Newport Harbor Nautical Museum

Explore our region’s maritime heritage with family-oriented interactive exhibits, ship models, artifacts and art, located in the heart of the historic Balboa Fun Zone on Newport Bay.

Future Scientists and Engineers of America

Students (grades 4-12) learn about science, engineering and technology through fun and challenging projects, such as building bridges, catapults or working motors. Part of Discovery Science Center.

Griffith Observatory

The observatory features astronomy exhibits, a planetarium, a theater featuring shows and news programs, plus a high-powered refracting telescope and three solar telescopes.

Long Beach Marine Institute Camps

Oceanography and marine biology camp offers exciting programs aimed at various age groups. Day camps run from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday – Friday, beginning June 18 and ending August 17. Extended care is available.
