Can I Sign Up for Camp in Another City?

What if you live in a different neighborhood than your fave camp? No worries! Most cities give priority to their own residents, but they're happy to fill spaces with non-residents like you.

Most city parks and recreation departments offer fun school break camps for preschool kids and older. Led by perky recreation leaders, the day camps entertain your kids with creative crafts, kooky games, movies, nature activities, science experiments, cooking sessions, sports and even weekly excursions.

You can often register by the day to suit your schedule and budget, or arrange for fun-and-easy childcare for your entire summer break.

But what if you don’t live in the city that offers the camp?

No worries! Most cities give priority to their own residents, but they’re happy to fill any remaining spaces with non-residents like you. They do this by offering residents early registration (usually a week or so before non-residents) and a slightly discounted registration fee. Check online to see each city’s policy, and then swoop in to snag your spot.
