Chanukah Extravaganza Menorah Lighting

Shul by the Shore invites the entire community to a grand Chanukah Extravaganza. Fire & Ice: Ice Menorah Lighting. Enjoy live music, hot latkes, donuts, Chanukah gelt, grand raffle, crafts and more. Hanukkah Family Festival at Skirball Cultural Center
December 2 |  Los Angeles
This celebration of the ancient Jewish festival of light explores the themes of justice, courage, and persistence at the core of the Hanukkah story and the current exhibition Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Activities include performances, hands-on workshops, storytelling, and more. Adults, $12; kids (2-12), $7; free for members and kids under age 2. Advance tickets recommended. Sunday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Chanukah Story Time and Menorah Lighting

 Join the Hebrew Academy for Chanukah Story Time and a Menorah Lighting! Menorah Lighting on Sunday, December 2, 4 p.m. at the Citibank Parking Lot. 5354 East 2nd St., Long Beach. Story Time on Tuesday, December 4, 7 p.m. at the Huntington Beach Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach.

 

Hooray for Hanukkah at Pretend City Children’s Museum
December 2-10 | Irvine
Spin the dreidel and light the menorah! Celebrate Hanukah at Pretend City! Let your little ones learn about this holiday through fun activities, traditions, games, and art! They’ll be singing songs and getting in the holiday spirit! Sunday – Monday. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

 

Community Chanukah Celebration at Alpert Jewish Community Center
December 7 | Long Beach
Join Alpert JCC for a kosher Shabbat dinner, services and concert! Live performance from Michelle Citrin. Friday, 5:30 p.m. Adult, $10. Ages 18 and under, free.

 

Menorah Lighting Ceremony at Irvine Spectrum Center
December 9 | Irvine
Join the Irvine Spectrum to celebrate Hanukkah with music and festive traditions at the annual Menorah Lighting, hosted by the Chabad of Irvine. Sunday, 3 p.m. Edwards Court.

 

Hanukkah Festival at Zimmer Children’s Museum
December 9 | Los Angeles
It’s the eighth day of Hanukkah, so visit the Zimmer for the annual Hanukkah Festival! There will be dreidel making in the Art Room, add a paper flame to the giant collaborative menorah, enjoy Hanukah-themed story time, and discover other activities for the whole family to celebrate the festival of lights! Arrive early for complimentary gelt with admission! Admission cost: Adults $7.50. Children 1-17,  $7.50. Children under 1, free. Sunday, 2-4 p.m. Zimmer Children’s Museum.
