Whatever you call it, Mondays can be a doozy but they don’t have to be!
Here are 8 things you can do to have an awesome start to your week.
Positive vibes Kidsguiders, positive vibes. 😉

1. Attend Storytime at Boone Children’s Gallery at LACMA

On Mondays (and Fridays), the Los Angeles Museum of Art staff read folk tales and age-appropriate books on art and culture! Families then draw connections between the art in the galleries and the art they create. 2 p.m. Free; pick up your free ticket at the box office.

2. Enjoy Family Autism Play Days at Pretend City

The last Monday of the month, Pretend City hosts a special day just for for families with children on the Autism Spectrum. Be sure to call for times. Free admission. RSVP required.

3. Catch an Inexpensive Movie

If you’re near the Main Place Mall in Santa Ana, this is a must for those groggy Mondays. Movies are only $2-5 daily or $2 extra for 3-D movies.

4. Picnic at an Orange County Park

Beat the Monday blues with some fresh air and a picnic! Plus, be sure to check the OC parks website for family-friendly hikes, walks, tours and more that might make your day even better! If there is no activity listed, click “Parks & Trails,” “Beaches & Coastal Facilities” or “Historic Sites” in the top left column for parks and their amenities to create your own adventure. 😉

5. Skate with the Long Beach Junior Roller Derby

Get your skate on and enjoy a night of family skating, open to all ages and abilities! Skaters ages 10 and under must have adult supervision and those under 18 must have a parent sign a waiver. 5:30-7:30 p.m. $5.

6. Be Amazed at the Wonder of Dinosaurs in Redondo Beach

You’ll love the educational robotic and static dinosaur displays and dino-themed activities including inflatable obstacles, Ride-a-T-Rex, fossil panning, a maze, and more! 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Admission: Adults, $8; kids (2-12), $16.

7. Grab a Bite to Eat on the House

Kids eat free is a must. Flip through this site to see if some of your favorite restaurants participate in this goodie!

This club is a morning of craft tables, princesses, super heroes, music, petting zoos and more. Be sure to catch it in the Bella Terra Amphitheater! Monday, 10:30 a.m. Free. Call for theme.
