25th Annual Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade
March 16: Over 100 local businesses, civic organizations and school marching bands will take part in the seven-block parade down Pier Avenue. The Irish theme of Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated by the many participants in the festivities including bagpipers from the Emerald Society, floats, horses and four-legged friends from the Irish Setters Club of Southern California. Parade begins near City Hall on Valley Dr., makes a left onto Pier Ave. and ends at the corner of Hermosa Ave. and 10th St. Saturday, 11 a.m.
St. Patrick’s Day Irish Festival in Mission Viejo
March 16: Mission Viejo is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! Entertainment will feature OC’s renowned Irish band Cillian’s Bridge, a lively sheep herding demonstration by SoCal Herding, and bungee jumping for the bravest among us, along with crafts and games for the kids. Delicious Irish (and not so Irish) food, including beer and wine, will be available for purchase. Saturday, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Village Green at Oso Viejo Park. Free.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Pretend City in Irvine
March 17: Green’s the way to be on this fun-filled day! Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with story time, art, and fun activities. Wear your greenest outfit for the Irish heading home parade at the end of the day. Sunday, visit their website for schedule of activities. Included with admission.
St. Patrick’s Day 5K & Little Leprechaun Dash in Redondo Beach
March 17: Sign up for the annual Village Runner St. Patrick’s Day 5K Run/Community Walk. There will be chip timing, age division awards and cash prizes to the top three overall male and female runners in the 5K run. All kids in the Little Leprechaun Dash for Gold finishers receive medals too! Sunday, 8 a.m. Cost, $30-35.
St. Patrick’s Day at Farmers Market LA
March 17: Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with traditional Irish food, activities for the kids, and live music. Enjoy strolling Irish folk bands and a bagpiper throughout the afternoon. The Paddy O’Dors Band performs 7-9 p.m. on the West Patio. Magee’s Kitchen, the Market’s first eatery, is celebrating their 100th anniversary with great corned beef, cabbage and potato plate specials all day long! Sunday.
St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon at Tanaka Farms in Irvine
March 17: Join Tanaka Farms for a traditional Irish feast with a twist! Take a tractor pulled wagon ride around the farm and take in the views as it transports you to their gorgeous hilltop for an all-you-can-eat buffet. The hilltop venue offers views of the farm (and beyond!) as well as a lush lawn perfect for the kids to run and play. Once up top, find a seat and hit the buffet! After lunch, relax and enjoy games on the lawn, or simply enjoy basking in the sun. Sunday, 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Adults, $49. Kids (3-12), $29. Children under 2 are free.
